Prabeer (b. 1981) was born and brought up in the Temple State of Odisha, Bharat (India). Following his undergraduate degree in Ceramic Engineering at National Institute of Technology Rourkela, he worked as a Project Assistant for a year at the erstwhile Department of Metallurgy, Indian Institute of Science Bangalore. Soon after, he obtained a British Chevening Fellowship to pursue an M.Phil. degree education at the University of Cambridge in affiliation to the Wolfson College. Then, he moved to the east coast of USA to pursue doctorate research in Materials Science at Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey. His PhD thesis was based on halidated activated carbon based supercapacitors carried out under the supervision of Prof. Glenn G. Amatucci. After 4 year stay in North America including a short stay in Canada, he moved back to Europe to undergo postdoctoral training under the tutelage of Prof. Jean-Marie Tarascon and Prof. Michel Armand at the Universite de Picardie Jules Verne, France. Following, he moved to the University of Tokyo as a JSPS Fellow to conduct his second postdoctoral training under the guidance of Prof. Atsuo Yamada. After 10-year long stay abroad, he returned back to Bharat to start his independent research career. His research is focused on electrochemical energy storage devices, mainly (post) Li-ion batteries and electrocatalysis. As an Associate Professor, currently he is directing FaMaL focusing on materials synthesis, crystal/magnetic structure, and electrochemical investigation of inorganic insertion materials. Apart from research, Prabeer is interested in traveling, reading philosophical books and listening to instrumental music.
